I can't get any dv firewire cam to recognize, even though other software could access them (not accessing them when I try camuni, obviously).
The device is listed as the usual microsoft dv, but cannot create directshow filtergraph. Other of my usual software see it and use it fine.
Following another thread here (I think) I reset my 1394 drivers to legacy and that helped gain access to the devices. This is a new install of the retail, not a beta, but I've installed no other codecs (like xvid, ffdshow, panasonic dv, canopis, etc). Have installed only the 3.8 version on this OS build (no uninstall/reinstall). Edit: I mean to say without legacy driver the device did not show at all. It still is not accessible.
Any ideas?

Hey that worked. I swear I looked over every post in this thread before posting. I am having problems with ffdshow also since I recently installed it. I assumed that if you give control when the warning is shown that it is enough.
